WHAT IS AN ARPG?

Toggle Spoiler
ARPG stands for Art Role Playing Game! Here at Lav✧Labs you will be able to participate in playing by drawing or writing what your character(s) are doing during a prompt provided. By participating in prompts, you can gain in-game currency, EXP for your character(s), and items!

WHAT IS LAV✧LABS?

Toggle Spoiler

Lav✧Labs was an upcoming research facility situated near Johto that specialised in Pokemon genetics, research, and modification. Their goal was to be the first facility that could create a Mewtwo clone and have it stable and trainable. Unfortunately for them, their teams were rushed on the project and it ended poorly.

You will now have the opportunity to explore inside the lab's ruins of the secondary branch in hopes of surviving, but it won't be easy... Danger lurks around every corner, from broken machinery, to bio hazards, your characters are at risk as they scavenge for supplies. Not only that, but it seems there's some Experiments left behind still inside the lab, and not all of them are friendly...

WHAT ARE RESEARCH CATEGORIES?

Toggle Spoiler
Research Categories cover the 3 areas of research the lab oversaw. Cloning, Variants (Domesticated), and Shiny. Your Experiment must fall into one of these categories. While they could fit into two or all 3, whatever their use was for is the category they will be registered under.

HOW DO I DESIGN A CHARACTER?

Toggle Spoiler

Note that we aren't going to restrict stylisation much, but PLEASE have your character recognisable as that Pokemon. If you'd like to draw a quad Pokemon upright, that will be considered a stylisation thing. Gijinkas or humanoids are allowed, as well.

WHAT IS AND HOW DO I SUBMIT A CLAIM?

Toggle Spoiler

A claim is used for a few things on the website, usually for things that cannot be done through Prompts, items, Crafting, etc. They can be filled out by navigating to "SUBMIT" at the top of the website and clicking "SUBMIT CLAIM"

For list of Claims you can make and their forms, check here.

HOW DO I SUBMIT TO THE GALLERY?

Toggle Spoiler
Check the spoiler block on this post for the tutorial.

WHAT IF MY SUBMISSION IS A COLLAB?

Toggle Spoiler

In the case of a submission being a collab, both collaborators must submit to the prompt the same image(s) they've done together to receive full rewards. However, collabs must be at LEAST a shaded piece with background or 800 words, and both users will have been marked as submitting to the Mission and further plays of it must be done via a Re-Call.

One user will submit the image(s) to the Gallery for approval, and then both users will submit the same URL in their prompt submission.

In the case of a mission requiring it to be a collab, the same submission process will apply.

HOW SHOULD I DESIGN ACCESSORIES OR WEAPONS?

Toggle Spoiler

Accessories or Weapons should at least be somewhat believable to have been made with things found within the lab setting, but largely we won't restrict them too much. If you can come up with a reason for how your character obtained the weapon or made it, go for it!

In the case of not having a player accessory or weapon item, and instead you have a held item being used instead, you are free to modify the design from the item's pre-made image, as long as it is recognisable as that item. Such as a black belt being doubled up, having different shaped ends on the fabric, black glasses being a different style of sunglasses, a reaper cloth being used as a cape or scarf, etc.

HOW MANY ITEMS CAN MY POKEMON HOLD?

Toggle Spoiler
A Pokemon at base without any upgrades can hold 1 held item type, any amount of accessories, and any amount of weapons. By attaching a BAG to your Pokemon's inventory, they can hold an additional 10 items per BAG.
